Holler House is a tavern that houses the oldest certified bowling alley in the United States. Holler House contains the two oldest sanctioned lanes in the nation, both of which are still tended by pinsetters. Holler House was opened in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1908. The 100th anniversary party was held Saturday, September 14, 2008. Esquire has rated Holler House one of the best bars in America. Holler House was founded on September 13, 1908 by "Iron Mike" Skoronski as Skowronski's. His son, Gene married Marcy in 1952 and they renamed it Gene and Marcy's. Gene passed away, but Marcy Skowronski still runs the tavern. About 1975, it was christened "Holler House" by a German woman who could not believe the noise that was coming from inside. Starting in the mid-twentieth century, Holler House began a tradition that has since accumulated nearly 1,000 bras. This tradition started when the owner Marcy Skowronski was drinking with her friends, after which they started taking their clothes off. This has now grown into a tradition in which women would autograph and hang their bras from various fixtures in the tavern the first time they went there. When the bras started fraying, Skowronski boxed up most of the them to make room for new ones to be displayed. Holler House still looks much the same as it did a century ago. The lanes are made of real wood that was laid over a century ago, not the synthetic wood found in modern bowling alleys. It still has a manual pin mechanism that pin boys reload by hand by rolling the bowling balls down a track between the two lanes. Scores from bowling games are documented from paper hanging on the wall.

Located along I-25, heading east at the Harmony exit, you will find a small sculpture park, where fanciful creatures have been welded together from old farm machinery and car parts. There are dinosaurs, giant bugs made out of Volkswagen Bug chassies, little space creatures and a space ship--products of the creativity of Mr. Swet. And, last time I went and probably still today, this place costs nothing to visit. A small donation is asked for but not expected. Take a picnic and sit among the sculptures, watching the river go by. Wander the paths. It's a trip.

The south side of the park faces Albert Whitted Airport where you can watch planes take off. The park also has a boat ramp and kiddie playground. A great place for an afternoon picnic! As someone who prides himself on knowing exactly where to go, or more importantly, where to not go when traveling, I recently discovered something in san Francisco that caught me a little bit off-guard. I've been to this great city many times over the years for business or for quick weekend getaways and have explored nearly every neighborhood, eaten at some of the best restaurants and checked out all the major museums. Or so I thought. On a recent trip to Frisco (the locals prefer you don't call it that!), I was talked into a jaunt to Fisherman's Wharf by my companion who wanted to watch the barking sea lions. I reluctantly agreed and honestly had one of the best experiences I've had in a long time. In addition to the sea lions, an attraction that I'll call a must for anyone visiting San francisco, there's a handful of truly incredible museums. Though not on par with SFMOMA or The de Young Museums, The Ripley's Believe it or not and The Wax Museum are both quite interesting and fun (especially if you're with kids!). As a WWII buff, I was blown away by the USS Pampanito, a real submarine converted into a museum and memorial. As a WWII buff I was blown away and frankly a bit disappointed that I'd never really known about it. Also: A place called The Musee Mecanique on Pier 45 is a must-see. This unique collection of mechanically operated musical instruments and antique arcade machines was a such a blast! I'll never go back to Frisco without visiting that place. We had dinner at Scomas, which I'd heard about but never been. Possible the best cioppino I've ever had! And then a cable car ride back to my hotel in Union Square. What a great day! Even more importantly though, I learned something...just because a place is popular with tourists, doesn't mean it's not worth a visit. Next stop, Times Square. Or, maybe not...

The Delicate Demon of Dover farm st is narrow and winding surrounded by woods and pastures. In 1977 some kids were driving towards smith st , when somethin loomed up in the headlights. it was an unusual human-like creature , it was climbin over a stone wall creaping along near the road. it looked to be less than 4 feet tall,with a large head shaped like a egg. but as big as a watermelon. it had round glassy eyes that kept starring at the headlights. it didnt move 4 almost a min.the eyes were red and its skinpeach colored , almost like a babys, and it had no hair. it didnt seem to have any nose, mouth or ears , but a thin neck that didnt seem strong enough to support the large head. it had long spindly legs and arms with big hands and fingers. it seemed to be clutchingat the rocks with its fingers and toes. they sped off scared. two hours later another kid walking down farm st at midnight seen the same creature.. they call it The dover demon... it has been recently seen behind a school in westwood

I came up to San Francisco to visit some friends last week and had an awesome time. I'd been there in the past but always tended to avoid certain neighborhoods. This time I was "dragged" down to Fisherman's Wharf and I have to say I really enjoyed hanging out down there. For one thing, it's absolutely gorgeous, with Alcatraz right there across the bay and the GG Bridge just up to the left. Now obviously anyone who knows San Francisco knows of Fisherman's Wharf, right? But as someone who's always avoided it because of a reputation for being too "touristy," I felt like I had discovered something new in a city I've been to so many times. Make sure to check out the barking seals and the one-of-a-kind museum called Musee Mecanique at Pier 45. Very cool! Oh, and the crab I got from a vendor was possibly the best I've ever eaten!

the most refreshing water you will ever taste runs from a spigot on the side of route 3 in plymouth. tapped straight from the mountain the locals are constantly stopping by to bottle this water & take home for themselves. tourists, as well, enjoy this spring. coming from route 93 you take the plymouth state university exit and head toward the college. you'll come upon a rotary where you want to go as though you were turning left toward the common. drive around the common & continue on route 3. just a minute or so down the road you'll see some vines that wrap around telephone lines above the road. just after this & before the train tracks meet the road the water spigot will be on your right. chances are there will be other cars already parked there as it is incredibly popular! DeCordova is a Sculpture Park, which abuts Flint's Pond, the reservoir for the Town of Lincoln. It spreads out over 35 square acres. Some 75 sculptures are installed on the grounds at any given time, though pieces rotate in and out on a periodic basis. It's a pretty awesome place and you never know what you'll find there. Admission to the Sculpture park is free when the museum is closed. It's in kind of a weird low-traffic spot, so it's never jam-packed, but it's only about a 2-minute walk from the Sullivan Square Orange Line stop. Most of the people that I see going there are Hispanic immigrants from the local neighborhood, which to me always lends a certin amount of creedence to the fact that the food is good - if the people who ate this in their home country are eating it at this place, it must be pretty good. Great to just grab a taco or burrito and go, or if you want to chow there, check out the awesome "dining room" downstairs.

This is an old ice cream parlor made famous by its GIGANTIC portions and a little treat called: The Kitchen Sink, where any kind of ice cream is literally served (filled to the brim) in a kitchen sink. The walls are decorated with odd vintage momentoes and license plates with funny names. The front also has a little candy shop for an extra shot of sugar. If you go, tell your waiter or waitress that its someones birthday... they sound an old fire siren and bring out that person's ice cream with a live sparkler in it... Sounds corny, but its a lot of fun!

One of the best Irish Pub's in South Florida! The two women who own it are actually from Ireland and founded the place once they became American citizens! The food is Y-U-M-M-Y and all authentic! If you're unsure, go for the sheppard's pie with a Guinness. On Friday-Sunday nights they have live Irish Music to set the mood. So if you're a Black Velvet Band fanatic, this is probably you're thing. It's cheap too! Side note: The St.Patty's Day party is one of the best you can attend, if you don't mind crowds!

Just because its a hotel doesn't mean you have to stay here (its a bit pricey). But if you're ever in South Beach, definitely check it out! The decor is awesome with long flowing shear curtains that drape floor to ceiling and kind of section off the main lobby. An incredible sushi bar opens at 7pm -12, with rolls to die for. The Rose bar is a killer place for a sophisticated cocktail and the pool is one of the best! The water literally comes all the way up to edge and is lined with private little cabanas you can rent out! Check it out! The decor is awesome Did I mention they also have a meditation garden?

This is an old Cherokee village that has managed to withstand the test of time. It seriously is like a step back in to the past. The Cherokee are all dressed in appropriate attire for the history and they feature their way of life. You take a tour through the small village witnessing the things they made like: arrowheads, beadmaking, weaving, mask carving, canoe hulling, blowgun demos, etc. Very surreal
