Enormous mansion which is now the official residence of the President of Harvard University. Before that, it was the home of American poet/diplomat/critic James Russell Lowell, a friend of Longfellow and a professor at Harvard. Before that, it was the former home of Elbridge Gerry, vice-president of the USA under James Madison, and who was the namesake of "Gerrymandering."
